Why go with a 1 Tank, 1 Head, All-in-One System?
While 2 tanks and 2 heads is the most efficient way to properly filter whole-house water, implementing a 1 tank, all-in-one, multi-stage water refiner is also an acceptable solution in many circumstances. It's a more cost effective solution as far as your upfront costs and doesn't take up as much room if there are space constraints, but it could potentially lead to higher maintenance costs over the lifespan of the system. You also don't have as much filtration media and resin present as you do in a 2 tank system so the results and efficient operation of the system will not be as good.
Why go with a 2 Tank, 2 Head System?
Not all filtration media is cleaned under the same water pressure. When you combine different types of media into one tank with one head or two tanks with only one head, you greatly reduce the lifespan of all filtration media present and significantly reduce your results and overall system performance. You also significantly increase your overall maintenance costs. By separating the media and utilizing two tanks and two heads, you get the best possible results, the best possible system performance and the lowest overall maintenance costs.
